Cleo Weidlich summited Kangchenjunga on May 20th at 7h48 am! She is now the first American woman, who was on top of this mountain! She reported by email:
"This was the strangest expedition ever, I'm glad it's over! I ruptured the parallel ligaments of my right knee at 8,500 and by the time I reached C4, I was snow blind as well. Needless to say, it was an epic descent... I made my way to C2 where I was rescued by a heli. A young man from Ireland, living in the UK, Anselm Murphy, guided me from C3 to C2. I was discharged today from the Norvic International hospital in Kathmandu."
It is her fifth Main-8000er after Cho Oyu, Everest, Gasherbrum I and Manaslu!
